FORMULAS and RECIPES
Here are some of Jean's recipes, mixtures and formulas. TWP stands for
"The Wellness Place" which is the name of her clinic, which she ran
for many years until she went into semi-retirement. For maximum health benefit,
all items should be organic, all seeds should be raw, and all oils should be
cold-pressed. All cookware should be inert, as in, avoid anything
with teflon, with a coating, with aluminum, from cast iron. Generally, stainless
steel and glass cookware such as Pyrex is inert. Enameled cookware is far
superior assuming it is undamaged.

TWP Cleansing Breakfast
This is a mush recipe, for one serving. Double it for two,
etc.
1 cup purified water
1/3 cup toasted organic oat bran
Combine in an inert pot (NO teflon, no aluminum, no cast
iron). Bring to a boil, turn down to low simmer immediately, simmer 30
seconds, turn off heat and allow retained heat to do remainder of cooking.
Add:
1 T freshly milled organic flax seeds
1 T shredded plain coconut (unsweetened)
1 T organic raw almonds
1/4 t organic cinnamon powder
1/8 t fresh grated ginger
Season to taste with local raw honey. This is an extremely
high fiber diet. Consume this daily for a few days, or if you need a
further cleansing, every morning for a month. It will dredge out lots of
unwanted stuff from your system, both in the colon and other systems.
Cinnamon and Ginger heat up the body, and help in a
detoxification process.

TWP Warming Soup
This soup is extremely nourishing and quick to make:
Any selection of sliced/chopped organic fresh good
looking vegetables such as carrots, potato, celery, or whatever is in
season.
Any kind of organic flesh food with bones, or wild
caught fish skeleton meaning you must including the bones
1/2 cup hijiki and/or 1/2 cup wakame
1 T organic vinegar (apple cider, rice, etc)
Put all in large soup pot and cover with water. Bring to a
boil, then turn down to a simmer. Season to taste with organic herbs and
kosher salt. Remember to include fresh grated ginger, fresh minced
cilantro and cayenne or habenero. Other spices to include can be thyme, oregano,
basil, mustard powder, fresh minced garlic chives, organic soy sauce.
If you have the time, let this simmer for a while, which
will allow the calcium to migrate from the bones to the broth.

Soothing Soap
If you have sensitive skin, you may easily get contact
dermatitis. If so, avoid any contact with solvents, fragrances, perfumes,
and use hypoallergenic laundry detergent and fabric softener. Jean
recommends that you use Seventh Generation products or a similar brand
that tends to have fewer manufactured chemicals and more plant extracts in
their composition/formula.
To bathe you can use Bronner's Liquid Castille
soap.
If you have open lesions, you might not need soap at
all. Dry off thoroughly when you exit your bath or show.

Regarding wheat, gluten, and yeast
Do you have a high blood sugar problem? Or a sensitivity to wheat? Many
individuals feel unwell eating wheat, gluten, yeast, sugars and other high
glycemic foods
It's not that complex, and it's free. Just try it for, say 7 to 20
days. That means zero foods and beverages with sugar, high fructose corn
syrup, wheat, beer, gluten and yeast. See if you feel better avoiding
these products. If you do, then just do that, avoid consuming wheat,
gluten, beer, yeast, bread and items which may trigger a new problem.

Many years ago Jean co-authored a book with her friend Joy, full of recipes
for making healthy delicious meals. It is now out of print but will be made
available upon request.
Jean still offers Chinese Herbal
Supplements to her patients and to TCM professionals for their patients, each one customized and based on TCM theory.
